Aged Dependent Relative visa
This permanent visa lets a single older person stay in Australia if they rely on a relative living in Australia for financial support.
You must
- be inside Australia, but not in immigration clearance, when you apply for this visa and when we decide on your application
- be sponsored by your relative or your relative's partner
- be sponsored by an eligible relative or a relative's partner.
- The Department of Home Affairs must approve the sponsorship.
- be old enough to receive the age pension in Australia
- must have been dependent on your relative in Australia for basic needs like food, shelter and clothing for at least the last 3 years before you apply for the visa.
- have NO partner.
- visa you currently hold must not have a no further stay condition on it.
- be able to obtain an assurance of support.
- meet health / character requirements
- Eligible to get Bridging Visa if applies in Australia.
